Importing
Staples, Brought In From the Source
Sugar from Brazil, basmati from India, olive oil from Syria — imported into Al Ain from eight countries.
Every product on our shelves has a country it is best known for, and we buy from that country. Sugar and red kidney beans come from Brazil. Basmati rice comes from India. Coffee, chocolates and burghol come from Turkey. Salt and white beans come from Egypt, olive oil from Syria, chick peas from Mexico, blackeye beans from Madagascar and green lentils from Canada.
Importing is our core licensed activity. It means a buyer in the UAE can order rice, sugar, pulses, oil, salt, coffee and chocolates from one supplier in Al Ain, rather than dealing with a separate importer for each.
